I have never really cooked ribs before so this was a good introduction recipe (from Fix It and Forget It Cookbook, pg 147). It has easy to find ingredients and is quick to assemble….plus it’s cooked in the crockpot so that is a definite plus!

NOTE: instructions are paraphrased from cookbook

  • 4lb boneless pork spareribs
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 14/ cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup white vinegar
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 15 oz can of spiced cling peaches, cubed, with juice

  1. cut ribs in serving size pieces and brown in broiler or saucepan and drain
  2. put ribs in slow cooker
  3. combine other ingredients and pour over ribs
  4. cover and cook 8-10 hrs on low heat

This was pretty tasty; it was a little sweet for our taste but overall it was good. I would make it again but it won’t been a regular addition. We ate this with mashed potatoes and peas for a nice complete dinner.
