The  other day my hubby and I were out shopping and we stopped in a coffee shop… On the menu were a variety of fancy seasonal coffees. … of course I indulged and got an eggnog latte for $4.00 – it was quite good! However, I certainly won’t pay that for a drink very often so this morning I thought I’d try to whip up my own version of the drink…. it doesn’t have the same body and rich flavor/texture of the gourmet latte, but it’s still pretty good.  If a person had a fancy coffee machine they could probably make it gourmet at home! Anyway, I think it’s not bad for an at-home version and it’s so simple– here ya go!

  • hot coffee
  • egg nog
  • whip cream (optional)

  1. brew your regular coffee just like you normally would
  2. pour about 1/4 to 1/2 cup of egg nog into your mug and put into the microwave for about 20 seconds to heat (I did this thinking it would prevent any curdling – had no problems doing this)
  3. pour hot coffee over the eggnog and top with whip cream (if desired)
