My husband and I were invited to a dinner party last night and were asked to bring a dessert. I didn’t really feel like doing much work and found this recipe for Ore0 Ball truffles from Simple Daily Recipes using only 3 ingredients so I thought I’d give it a try. These were a big hit and were easy enough to make.

Here’s my version of the recipe below:

INGREDIENTS – Chocolate “Truffles”

  • about 25 chocolate cookies with white cream filling, crushed in the food processor
  • 1/2 of light cream cheese block, softened and cut into bits
  • 1/2 package semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 tbsp heaving whipping cream
  • alternately, could also make with any cream-filled cookie – I used maple flavored ones and covered in white chocolate – they were great

  • Crush cookies in food processor and then add in the softened cream cheese and blend together in food processor to make a dough
  • Using a spoon or melon baller, make balls, approx 1″ round and place on a cookie sheet lined with wax paper
  • place in the fridge for at least 1 hour before dipping in hot chocolate
  • to make chocolate dip, microwave the chocolate chips with heavy whipping cream about 20-35 seconds, and blend well – heat more if needed to get a smooth blend
  • use a toothpick to poke each ball and dip in the chocolate
  • alternately you could simply roll the balls in cocoa or powdered sugar
  • place in the fridge until chocolate hardens or until ready to eat
